Why Should I Support the Y?

Because...Every community should have a place where:

  • healthy lifestyles are encouraged
  • opportunities for growth are abundant
  • positive values are strengthened
  • everyone is supported and included

Because...No one is ever turned away.

The Clallam County Family YMCA welcomes all, regardless of age, faith, income, race, gender or ability.
Programs are reasonably priced, and financial assistance is available for those in need.

Because...In good times and in bad, the community turns to the Y.

We are always here to help in whatever way we can. And we need your help.

Unique and Local Giving Opportunities

The YMCA's Financial Pledge:
No child, family or individual will be turned away due to an inability to pay full program fees.

A gift to the Y's Power of Community Annual Campaign provides scholarships to kids, families and individuals in need, so they can participate in life-enriching activities.

  • Sponsorships are available for Y events, like A Taste of the Peninsula, where a partnership of the area's finest chefs, wineries and food producers make the first Saturday of November an annual standout event.
  • Special giving opportunities to particular activities like summer camp, the art program, sports, classes and activities help ensure YMCA programs are affordable and accessible to all.
  • The Endowment Fund ensures that YMCA services and programs are there for future generations.

Positive Programs with Community Impact

YMCA programs focus on producing the outcomes we all want for everyone in our community: respect, accountability, self-esteem, improved communication, optimum health, stronger families and nurtured kids. In 2009, the YMCA will serve more than 4,000 youth and teen program participants, and more than 3,000 adults. Each year the Y provides more than $100,000 in scholarships to kids, families and individuals in need.

aolWe are committed to:

  • helping children and youth develop positive values of caring, respect, honesty and responsibility;
  • encouraging commitment to service through volunteer opportunities;
  • helping families build stronger bonds and become more engaged with their communities;
  • helping individuals strengthen their physical, mental and spiritual well-being.

Ready to Strengthen the Power of Your Community?

Make a Charitable Donation: Your tax-deductible gift can be structured to fit your needs. Pay in one or many installments--online, by check, credit card (Visa, MC or Discover), EFT and even stock transfers. Your gift will help to open an array of possibilities for those who need it most.

Volunteer: We also have the following phone nights (5:30-8 p.m.) scheduled during March, again at the offices of JACE The Real Estate Company in Port Angeles.  Food, staff support (and fun themes!) will be provided.  Bring a friend and help the community together!

2010 Phone Nights

  • Monday, March 1 (Campaign Kick-off / YMCA Board Night)
    (Star-bellied Sneetches)
  • Thursday, March 4 (Fiesta)
  • Tuesday, March 9 (Mardi Gras)
  • Tuesday, March 16 (Pirates)
  • Thursday, March 18 (March Madness)
  • Tuesday, March 23 (Muscle Beach)
  • Tuesday, March 30 (TBA)

Spread the Word: Other ways to help include introducing new prospects to our campaign (your friends and colleagues),or just being available to take one of our volunteers' phone calls. Thank you for considering the YMCA for your charitable giving!

Levels of Giving

Sustaining Member--$35
Your $35 gift could provide a child with a season of recreational hoops, indoor soccer, t-ball, or a variety of other seasonal activities, where sportsmanship and teamwork means everyone wins.

Century Club--$100
Your gift of $100-$150 could provide a teen with a YMCA membership for a year, or a summer of sailing or horseback riding.

Roundtable Club--$500
Your gift of $65 a month could provide a family with one full year of YMCA membership and facility use, where families access healthy lifestyles and values. This level could also help adults in need participate in the martial arts program for a spirit-mind-body approach to wellness.

Leadership--$1,000
Your gift of $85 a month could cover a teen's expenses in the Youth & Government program, where "democracy is learned by each generation."

Benefactor--$2,500
Your gift of $200 a month could help a child expand his or her horizons through one-year scholarship to our state-licensed after-school program, where every child is safe and well-cared for.

Mission Partner--$5,000
Your gift of $500 a month could send an entire cabin of campers to Camp Pahata, our summer resident camp on Lake Crescent, where they will develop friendships and memories that last a lifetime. Or it could provide instruction for adult programs, like our twice-weekly fitness classes for developmentally disabled individuals.
